Peter B. Marmaras, ChFC®, CFP®
Co-Founding Principal
Peter B. Marmaras is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certificant and has earned the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC ®) designation. He is a co-founding Principal of Marmaras & Smith LLC, an advisory firm located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and Bedminster, New Jersey. The firm has a diversified practice in Wealth Management. A member of The Financial Planning Association (FPA), Peter’s experience includes developing personalized financial plans, retirement planning and investment management. He holds a B.S. Degree in Economics and Finance and attended Farleigh Dickinson University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1982.
He earned his CFP® certification at the College of Financial Planning/National Endowment for Financial Education, Denver, Colorado in 1990. In 1995, he earned the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designation from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
Currently, Peter is an active volunteer with several non-profit organizations including the Fighting Children’s Cancer Foundation in Wayne, New Jersey. He also serves as a trustee at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Peter was a past co-host of the weekly radio program, Managing Your Money (1995-1997). He is a past speaker for board meetings with the American Guaranty & Trust Company, Wilmington, Delaware, and the Sentinel Family of Mutual Funds, Boston, Massachusetts, and is included in “Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.”
An outdoorsman, fly fisherman, published poet, Peter’s interests include the arts, people, community and history. He and his wife Karen have three children, Anne, Grace, and John. He lives in Plainfield Township, Pennsylvania.
Christopher D. Smith
Co-Founding Principal
Chris is a co-founding principal of Marmaras & Smith, LLC, who focuses on developing detailed financial plans for corporate executives and business owners. In working with clients, he seeks to educate, inform, and explain options and strategies, costs and benefits. At Marmaras & Smith, LLC, Chris directs the investment review process and heads fund and securities research. He regularly reviews the asset allocation policies for the organization. Chris is a registered representative of Cetera Advisor Networks.
Chris comes from a family with a tradition of both hard work and strong ethics. He began his career at Dean Witter Reynolds in 1983 as a fixed income trader. In 1984 he joined E.F. Hutton & Company, where he was manager of the Personal Financial Planning Department. In 1987, Chris began building his practice as an independent financial planning practitioner. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). Chris created Going for the Gold and has contributed to The Road to Smart Investment Planning and The Road to Successful Retirement, retirement workshops designed with interactive modules that educate and inform participants regarding retirement planning.
Chris is a dedicated alumnus of Rutgers University, where he earned a B.A. degree in economics and finance in 1983. He is an ardent supporter of the Rutgers athletic department. Chris’s enthusiasm for sports extends into his community where he coached youth athletic teams in baseball, basketball, and football. Chris also developed a special needs athletics program for Warren Township known as Buddy Ball. Chris enjoys spending time at home in Warren, New Jersey, with his wife, Pam, and their three children.
Mike Assad
Director of Planning
Michael Assad is a registered representative of and offers securities through Cetera Advisor Networks. Cash flow management, risk management, investment planning, tax planning strategies, retirement planning, and estate planning are offered through Vicus Capital, Inc.
Michael holds a B.A. degree from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. He has been a Financial Planner for Marmaras & Smith, LLC since 2010. Michael has a passion for community service. Michael currently serves as treasurer for the Cougar FC, his son’s soccer club located in Drums, PA.
An avid fly fisherman, Michael enjoys wading the Lehigh River and its neighboring streams in pursuit of the elusive trout. Michael resides in White Haven, PA with his wife, Susanne, and sons, Benjamin, Reece, and Nicholas.
Craig Gillen
Vice President, Operations
Craig studied Engineering and Economics at Virginia Tech and began working in the financial services industry in 2002. His passion for operations and compliance led him to become the Branch Manager of an independent investment firm, before joining Marmaras & Smith in 2012.
Craig holds the Series-7, Series-24, Series-4, Series-55, and Series-63 securities registrations. At Marmaras & Smith, he is responsible for operations, new business and insurance processing, and compliance.
Originally from Long Island, New York, Craig now lives in eastern Pennsylvania with his wife Rebecca and their three children. In his free time, Craig is an avid water skier and rock climber.

Phillip Santore
Sr. Portfolio Analyst
Phil earned his B.A. degree in mathematics at Duquesne University where he minored in communications. While working as a teacher, Phil developed an interest in finance and economics, which led him back to school where he earned a second bachelor’s degree in business finance from the University of Phoenix.
Phil is Securities Series-7 registered and joined Marmaras and Smith in 2011. He works primarily on portfolio analysis and in trading and rebalancing portfolios. He is responsible for scheduling and preparing client reviews, asset allocation, portfolio management, security research, and client service.
Phil and his wife, Janel, who teaches school, reside in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, with their son and their dog. Phil’s passions include sports, finance, and music. He particularly enjoys playing golf, attending concerts and playing his acoustic guitar.

Wade Fisher
Client and Technology Support Services
Wade holds a B.A. degree in telecommunications from Kutztown University. As our Client Service Representative, Wade assists individual clients in processing insurance applications, checks, disbursements, and routine service requests. Wade possesses excellent computer skills and manages the firm’s client database as well as information and technology systems. He also provides technological support to Mike Assad, the company’s senior portfolio and planning analyst. Wade’s experience ensures that Marmaras & Smith, LLC, has the IT tools necessary to service clients in the most efficient manner possible.
Judy Nordell
Support Services
Judy provides clerical support, assisting with paperwork and record keeping. Actively involved in the day-to-day tasks of the office, she also contributes to multiple client service and support functions.
Judy enjoys reading, traveling, and photography. She lives with her husband Lance and Yorkshire Terrier, Max, in Forks Township, Pennsylvania. Her married son and grandchildren live in Canada; her stepdaughter and children in Pennsylvania.
Marcin Golebiowski
Associate
Marcin earned his dual B.S. degree in personal financial planning & marketing while studying at William Paterson University. During his tenure, Marcin became a student member of the Financial Planning Association and his team placed in the top 9 in the national financial planning challenge in 2011.
As the newest member of the Marmaras and Smith team, Marcin’s role is to provide executive support to our partners Chris and Peter. He is also on the planning team with Mike Assad constructing comprehensive financial plans for our clients.
Marcin joins our team after spending the first four years of his career at UBS Financial as a Client Resolution Specialist. He was exposed to various areas of wealth management which include mutual fund operations, insurance and annuities operations, alternative investment operations, investment advisory operations and equity plan advisory services.
Marcin is a passionate sports fan and enjoys going to a vast range of sporting events with friends and family. In his spare time, Marcin enjoys bowling competitively, exercising, playing card and board games, spending time at the beach, or with friends.

Annie Marmaras Volk
Executive & Operations Professional
Annie earned her dual B.A. degree in Communications Rhetoric and English Writing at the University of Pittsburgh. As a student, she further developed her passion for helping others while working for the Pitt Alumni Association. Following her graduation, she spent about a year working in the real estate industry. As the newest member of our team, she supports our advisor Peter B. Marmaras in executive duties and works in operations.
Annie was excited for the opportunity to gain experience while learning the business alongside her Father. She is currently furthering her education to expand her qualifications in finance. She currently lives in Pittsburgh where she is involved with the Pittsburgh Young Professionals. In her free time, she loves event planning, skiing, and entertaining others.
Christopher P. Suttmeier
Financial Advisor
Chris is a Financial Advisor, having joined Marmaras & Smith, LLC in 2023. Chris focuses on developing in-depth Financial Plans for families and business owners that are designed to help navigate the unique challenges and circumstances that they face. The foundation of Chris’ financial planning process is educating his clients on different strategies that will help them make informed and sound financial decisions.
Prior to joining Marmaras & Smith, Chris began his career in 2018 at MFS Investment Management in Boston, MA. At MFS Chris helped lead a team of Internal Sales Representatives and partnered with Financial Advisors on developing investment allocation proposals and portfolio construction. In 2022, Chris joined Morgan Stanley in Princeton, NJ where he helped a team of Financial Advisors with Financial Planning and sat on the team’s Investment Committee.
Chris earned his B.A degree in Entrepreneurship from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2017. He comes from a family that staunchly supports Rutgers Athletics and you can find him in the stands at Rutgers Stadium on Saturdays in the Fall. Chris is an avid golfer, and is a member of the Bucks County Chamber of Commerce. When he isn’t golfing or cheering on Rutgers, Chris serves as a volunteer for the Kappa Sigma Fraternity in many different capacities. Chris and his fiancée Morgan live in Bucks County, PA with their two dogs Luna and Bo.

Senior Vice President & General Counsel
Kimberli is a Regional Director of Cetera Advisor Networks LLC.
Kimberli Casner is Senior Vice President and General Counsel for PFG. In this capacity, Kim oversees all aspects of PFG’s Compliance and Legal departments, interfacing directly with broker dealer executive staff and State and Federal regulators on behalf of PFG associates. She also serves as Chief Compliance Officer for Vicus Capital, our federally registered investment advisor, and continually monitors all facets of associate compliance requirements. Kim graduated from Pennsylvania State University, receiving her BA in Political Science. She earned her Juris Doctor from the Widener University Commonwealth Law School and is admitted to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as an attorney at law. She holds the Series 7, 24, 53, 4, and 66 registrations.
David Rosenblatt
Director, Investment Strategies
David serves as Director, Investment Strategies within Vicus Capital’s Investment Management & Research Department. He serves as the team leader for the management of the firm’s investment platforms lineup. David plays a key role in the management of the firm’s custom portfolios platform, Private Client Strategies™ (PCS™). Within the PCS™ platform, David aids in the construction and management of custom portfolios. Additionally, he oversees the firm’s investment research and ongoing due diligence of investment managers and serves as a member of Vicus Capital’s Investment Committee. David holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Risk Management as well as a Master of Investment Management degree from Temple University. He holds a Series 65 registration.

Rob Hinson, CFA®
Director, Investment Operations & Trading
Robert is a Registered Administrative Assistant of Cetera Advisor Networks LLC.
Rob is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and serves as Director, Investment Operations & Trading within Vicus Capital’s Investment Management & Research Department. He is responsible for managing all operational aspects of the investment department, including technology systems, vendor relations, as well as processes and procedures. Rob also serves as the primary trader for the firm’s tactical and hybrid platforms. He is a key contributor to ongoing investment due diligence and research and serves as a member of Vicus Capital’s Investment Committee. Additionally, Rob oversees the case design and proposal generation process for qualified retirement plans. He graduated Cum Laude from Central Michigan University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in Personal Financial Planning with a minor in Accounting. Rob also holds Series 7 and 66 registrations.
Jeff Closz
Senior Portfolio Analyst
Jeffery is a Registered Administrative Assistant of Cetera Advisor Networks LLC.
Jeff serves as a Senior Portfolio Analyst within Vicus Capital’s IMR Department. In this role, he functions as a key member of the investment team and focuses his efforts on the firm’s custom portfolios platform, Private Client Strategies™ (PCS™). Within the PCS™ platform, Jeff is responsible for analysis, trading and execution of client portfolios. Additionally, he serves as the secondary trader for the ProSelectTM, Social Impact Investing, and FlexChoice Pro platforms. Jeff also contributes to the firm’s investment research and ongoing due diligence of investment managers and serves as a member of Vicus Capital’s Investment Committee. Prior to his position with Vicus Capital, Jeff was an active financial representative and holds Series 7, 63, 65, and 55 registrations as well as Pennsylvania Life, Health, Accident, Property and Casualty Licenses. Jeff is a Gettysburg College graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
